PER exam in the Valencian Community 2026

Organised by the regional government (Dirección General de Costas, Puertos y Aeropuertos de la Generalitat Valenciana). Here are the 2026 dates, how to register, the fees and how the exam works, with links to the official sources (in Spanish).

Online on the Conselleria’s nautical activities website with an electronic ID or e-signature, or at PROP offices (Generalitat citizen service offices) and registries. The fee is paid with form 046. The PER exam is usually held on the Saturday of each session. Official page

How the exam works

45 multiple-choice questions in Spanish with four answers, 90 minutes. You pass with 32 correct answers (at most 13 mistakes) and within the mistake limits of the must-pass topics: Buoyage (2), Collision regulations (COLREGs) (5) and Chartwork (2). A wrong answer does not cancel a correct one.

PER complementario: with the PNB licence, or with the PNB theory passed in the Valencian Community within the last two sessions, you answer 18 questions from topics 7 to 11; you pass with 15 correct and at least 2 of the 4 chart questions.

What to bring

Original DNI (Spanish ID card), NIE (foreigner identity number), passport or Spanish driving licence (the only digital document accepted is MiDNI, the digital ID app); form 046 receipt; pen, nautical protractor, ruler, set squares and dividers; non-programmable scientific calculator. Phones and smartwatches are not allowed.
